ZINC & ALUMINUM DIE CASTINGS
PMIeng provides zinc die casting and aluminum die casting services to a variety of industries.
Die Castings are Zinc or Aluminum injected under pressure into a steel cavity die and ejected out once frozen. The parts are usually trimmed at the parting line to eliminate the flash created from the seam of the tool. Die castings are very tight tolerance and very cosmetic.
The tooling can be quite expensive so it may not be practical for low volume jobs. The parts may not be suitable for parts under heavy load, the turbulent nature of the pressure pour creates gasses than are hard to evacuate from the part, leaving interlinked porosity to be inherent to the process.
